• The majority of the voting shares of the company are legally and beneficially owned by one or more practising land surveyors (BCLS's) or by one or more companies the majority of whose voting shares are legally and beneficially owned by one or more practising land surveyors (BCLS's)
• A majority of the directors of the company are practising land surveyors (BCLS's)
• All of the persons who will be practising as land surveyors on behalf of the company are practising land surveyors registered with the ABCLS or are under the direct supervision of a practising land surveyor (BCLS)

Professional Liability Insurance in amounts not less than $1,000,000 per loss and $2,000,000 per policy period.

• The name of the company cannot be:
  • identical with that under which another land surveyor may practise, or with a land surveying company holding consent or a valid permit under the Land Surveyor Act
  • nearly resemble the name of a non-associated land surveyor or a land surveying company that holds consent or a valid permit under the Land Surveyor Act that is likely to confuse or mislead the public
• The name of the company must include the words "land surveying"
• The name must be approved by the Association
