Ohio Attest Public Accounting Firm

Insurance Requirements:

Firms must maintain professional liability insurance in amounts not less than:

  • Up to 4 partners/shareholders: $250,000
  • 5–9 partners/shareholders: $500,000
  • 10+ partners/shareholders: $1,000,000

Sole Proprietorships and General Partnerships do not need to meet this requirement.

Oregon CPA Firm Registration

Eligible Entity Types:

  • Limited Liability Companies
  • Other entities allowed by statute

Ownership Requirements:
  • A simple majority of the ownership of the business organization, in terms of financial interests and voting rights of all partners, officers, shareholders, members, or managers, must belong to licensed CPAs of good standing in any state
  • Partners, officers, shareholders, members, or managers of the business organization whose principal place of business is in Oregon and who perform public accountancy services in Oregon, must be Oregon-licensed CPAs in good standing 
Notes:

If a majority of the ownership of the business organization is held by licensed Public Accountants (PAs), the business organization may not use the name “C.P.A. Firm” or any similar name indicating that a majority of the ownership of the firm are licensed Certified Public Accountants (CPAs).
