Notes:	All Businesses Businesses making less than $3,000 per fiscal year are not required to have a Bartlett or Shelby County business license. A Shelby County business license is required for all businesses operating within the city. This must be obtained before applying for a business license with the city. Tennessee Contractors A Bartlett Business License is not required if total gross receipts in Bartlett are less than $50,000 per fiscal year. A contractor must still have a business license from the city and/or county where the principal place of business is located. Contractors with gross receipts totaling more than $50,000 must obtain a business license with the city. Out-of-State Contractors A Bartlett Business License is not required if total gross receipts in Bartlett are less than $50,000 per fiscal year. If gross receipts fall between $10,000 and $50,000, a contractor must obtain a Tennessee account number from the Tennessee Department of Revenue. Contractors with gross receipts totaling more than $50,000 must obtain a business license with the city.

Not required

A standard business license is renewed by the annual payment of taxes to the Tennessee Department of Revenue. Once this tax is paid each year, the county clerk or city official will provide a license for the next year. There is no charge for a renewal license.
