Ownership Requirements: | Corporations:
- At least 2/3 of the directors of the corporation or of each corporate partner are architects or engineers and at least one of whom, for each corporation, is an architect, and the majority of the issued shares of each class of voting shares of the corporation are beneficially owned by and registered in the name of the architects and engineers
- All partners, officers, or directors who are architects must be registered members of AANB
Non-Resident Corporations:
- At least 2/3 of the partners, principals, or directors of the corporation are architects or engineers and at least one of whom is an architect
- The majority of the issued shares of each class of voting shares of the corporation are beneficially owned by and registered in the name of architects and engineers
Partnerships:
- At least 2/3 of the partners, officers, or directors who are individuals are architects or engineers and at least one of whom is an architect
- All partners, officers, or directors who are architects must be registered members of AANB
Non-Resident Partnerships:
- At least 2/3 of the partners, principals, or directors of the partnership are architects or engineers and at least one of whom is an architect
- The majority of the issued shares of each class of voting shares of the corporation are beneficially owned by and registered in the name of architects and engineers
Sole Proprietorship:
- The principal of the sole proprietorship must be an architect registered with AANB

Insurance Requirements: | Professional Liability Insurance in amounts not less than $250,000 for any one claim with an aggregate total of $500,000 exclusive of interest and costs against liability resulting from bodily injury to or the death of one or more persons and loss of or damage to property, resulting from negligence in the practice of architecture. |

- The name of the firm may not be:
- the same or similar to the name, designation, or letterhead of another sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, partnership of corporation or joint venture that engages in the practice of architecture in New Brunswick so that the use would be likely to deceive or confuse
- a number name of a corporation
- a name other than the name of the corporation
- misleading
- scandalous, obscene, or immoral
- self-laudatory
- Names and designations for firms or corporate name shall comply with the following:
- Anonymous designations are in general acceptable. Name of designation may include the name, names, or initials of a past or present member. The name, names, or initials of past or present members of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick may be included.
- Firm names or designations shall not include the name or initials of individuals other than as authorized in subsection 6.5.3(a)
- Firm names or designations may use the word "Architect" or any addition, abbreviation, derivation, or a variation thereof and also the term "partner(s)", or "partnership" if associates or partners in fact exist. The term "associate" or "partner" in this context means another member of the design professions.
- The design professions in this context shall include persons duly qualified in the fields of landscape architecture, community planning and interior design, but does not include technicians or technologists.
- Holders of a certificate of practice shall include on their letterhead the names of all persons responsible for the practice of architecture. The name(s) shall be shown separate and apart from the name of the practice.

Qualifying Individual Requirements: | Depending on the type of entity, the practice of architecture will be carried out under the supervision and responsibility of one of the following:
- Corporations: a director, officer, or employee of the corporation
- Partnerships: an architect who is a partner, an employee of the partnership, or an officer, director, or employee of a corporate partnership
- Partnership of Corporations: an architect who is a director, officer, or an employee of the corporation or partnership who is an architect
- Sole Proprietorships: the principal of the sole proprietorship must be an architect registered with AANB
